Containers
The term container in computer systems encompass many different technologies. Maybe you think of docker, qubernetes and cloud images; maybe flatpak, snap and appimage. Containerisation generally mean a "self contained program". That is a program that bundles all dependencies, leaving minimal requirements on the host. In the hosting world, containers is synonymous with docker, the project pioneering the OCI-container. Docker was not the first container-technology. Seven years before docker, linuxcontainer.

Running IncusOS
I recently bought myself a new server. It contains a AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 32Gb of RAM harvested from my desktop because prices1, and a motherboard I'm not particularly happy about. My build has two killer features: 4*4 Tb of storage in RAID-Z1 (Bought before the prices 1), and 2x10Gb ethernet NIC on a expansion card. And since I have moved away from home, no father of mine will complain about the electricity usage.

My Home Lab
My first server took the form of a very old HP server. It was very square, had four disk bays, an AMD processor, a built-in and dedicated network card, e-SATA port, and screamed louder than me singing. Running Windows Server 2012, the 4Gb memory was clogged just standing there. I got this miracle from my father when he upgraded to some integrated solution to host the family images and plex.
